Student gains vital work experience at Hexagon

Habiba, 18, a Level 3 student at Burton and South Derbyshire College has been gaining industry experience one day a week at Hexagon since the start of 2022.

The industry placement allows her to put into practice the skills and knowledge learnt in her college course, gain 350 hours of work experience and contribute positively to a local business.

Rachel Brooks, Employment Engagement Executive at Burton and South Derbyshire College said: “We are delighted to have the support of Hexagon Leasing this year and they are giving Habiba a fantastic insight into the world of work and are allowing her to put what she is learning on her business course into practice within a friendly office environment.

“Habiba is working with Jo Litherland and Steve Johnson in the Sales Team and they have been very supportive of her. I am in regular contact with Jo and have visited the office to discuss Habiba’s progress and to agree targets for her to work towards.”

Habiba added: “Hexagon Leasing has been an amazing place to do my Industry Placement. It is a professional and friendly work environment.
